DESCRIPTION:The Experimental Archaeology program includes two hands-on activities – Making Cordage and Making a Pump Drill. First\, participants will learn how to make simple cordage using raffia. Then\, each participant will make their own pump drill using craft supplies. Participants can then test their pump drills by making beads with Smarties® Candy. All crafts can be taken home at the end of the program. \nThis program is for ages 8 – 18 years old\, however\, younger children can participate. All supplies for these hands-on activities are provided. The program will take place in the outdoor covered breezeway of Parker Annex Archaeology Center. We will also cover what to look for in a daycare or preschool. We will try to answer all those common newborn questions that come up in the first few weeks and months – hopefully\, this class will put your mind at ease. \nJoin us for our Baby Basics series every Thursday at 10 am. This 𝙁𝙍𝙀𝙀 class is geared toward pregnant moms and those with babies under 3 months old\, but all are welcome! Meet at the Breastfeeding Center at Parkside for a casual\, informative\, and fun class with your newborn (and other new parents and babies at a similar stage). You will also have a chance to weigh your baby on our baby scale\, and there will be a time for questions at the end of the class! \n‘Sitters and Schools’ is part of our 6-week series\, Baby Basics. We cover different topics each week from bringing home your baby\, to how to pick a daycare\, to feeding. You can join in at any week\, at any point in the series. DESCRIPTION:No cost for training! \n\nEight hours classroom instruction- Lunch is provided\nSix hours of behind the wheel instruction (pick-up and drop-off at residence in our service area). Driving sessions will be scheduled during the eight hour class if applicable. If the student had not held their permit over 5 months we will not make their driving session schedule during class. We will not complete all the 6 hours of driving before their 181st day.\nCertificate of completion will be provided to the student.\nThird Party Skills Test (Driving Test) will be provided after the last driving session.\nPaperwork to obtain driver’s license will be provided to the student. Parents/Legal Guardians will take their student to the DMV to turn in their paperwork.\n\nIF YOUR CHILD ATTENDS PUBLIC SCHOOL IN CHESTERFIELD COUNTY YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY ONLINE TO SAVE A SEAT FOR CLASS.
